Founder & Managing Director:
Marcus R. Carter founded GNT Financial Services Corp. in 1999 as a direct mortgage lender and mortgage brokerage. Mr. Carter focuses on working with high net worth individual investors providing equity based private money loans. Mr. Carter has personally closed over $500,000,000 in various loans. No individual investor has ever lost any principal on the loans originated by Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter is an expert in all aspects of the real estate mortgage business and his loan underwriting skills are key to his long term success as he quickly evaluates each loan for the borrower and private investor. Prior to founding GNT, Mr. Carter was the Sales Manager for large residential mortgage banker in Southern California where he managed a team of a team of 30 mortgage agents directly responsible for funding $25,000,000 per month of loans packaged and sold to banks. In addition to his lending activities, Mr. Carter is the Managing partner of La Mesa Fund Control & Escrow, a Department of Business Oversight Licensed Escrow Company that provides construction fund control and escrow services to banks, private lenders, owners and municipalities, for all types of construction projects. Mr. Carter is a licensed California Real Estate Broker and graduate of the University of San Diego with a degree in Business Finance.
Mitchell J. Brodie is a private real estate mortgage investor and commercial mortgage broker that began a career in the real estate finance industry after practicing as a CPA for 10 years and financial executive for 22 years. In 2002, Mr. Brodie founded a “Boutique” real estate capital and investment firm that sourced debt and equity capital for real estate developers and operators from private accredited investors and specialized institutions. Mr. Brodie has been involved in reviewing, analyzing, structuring, arranging or funding institutional and private commercial real estate financing transactions totaling more than $2 billion. Mr. Brodie began his career with Deloitte & Touche and has worked for both private and notable public companies including, Caterpillar, Inc., Nissan Motor Corporation, Anacomp, Inc. and several venture capital startup companies. Mr. Brodie is a licensed California Real Estate Agent, California CPA (inactive) and graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in Business Finance, Accounting Major.
Loan Processing Manager:
Cindy Dabbs joined the team at GNT in 2008 as our Loan Processor and Closer and is a principal of La Mesa Escrow & Fund Control, a sister company to GNT Financial Corp. Mrs. Dabbs brings over 25 years of residential and commercial real estate loan processing experience. This experience was developed through work in all facets of residential and commercial lending – including origination, processing, underwriting, and closing – with some of San Diego’s largest commercial lending institutions. Mrs. Dabbs began her career during the Savings and Loan crisis in late 1980’s and was able to navigate through a down market with an experienced team of professionals. Mrs. Dabbs commitment and comprehensive experiences have afforded her the extensive knowledge, creativity and thoroughness that are the essential assets needed when working in today’s demanding real estate environment. Fund Control & Escrow Managing Partner:
Grace Wasan joined the team in 2007 with the establishment of La Mesa Fund Control & Escrow and is its Managing Director. Mrs. Wasan brings over 30 years of construction fund control processing experience. Mrs. Wasan began her career with La Mesa Lumber Fund Control until that business was acquired by the team of Mr. Carter, Mrs. Dabbs and Mrs. Wasan. After a construction loan is funded, along with her staff, Mrs. Wasan manages the disbursement of funds during the construction of a project and ensures disbursements are made timely and precisely, as well as coordinating inspections and lien releases. Mrs. Wasan has developed thorough knowledge in all facets of residential and commercial construction funding.
